We like to think of ourselves as “the school that says yes.” Yes, if the chicken eggs are going to hatch overnight, we will set up a sleepover vigil so kids can see it. Yes, if a kid needs to talk with an aerodynamics expert for an ambitious modeling project, we will get them in contact. Yes, we’ll drive to Los Angeles for a weekend so a student can see an art gallery directly related to her project. Yes, if a really fantastic expert (like a cheese maker!) offers to come to our school during an unrelated arc, we’ll bring them in anyway. And yes, very occasionally, if it is a hot and glorious September day, we’ll scrap our lesson plan and go to the beach.
