Club Mud - a middle school studio

Club Mud

In club mud students are working with Phillip to learn the skills of working with clay to develop a personal ceramics project that can be sold at maker marketplace. Students will learn the basics of hand building, coil, slab and pinch to create vessels and sculptures! The basic flow of this studio is to learn a technique through a mini project and then apply it to your own personal project.  Students will also be a part of building and maintaining a clay studio that can be used by the rest of the community.

In the first week of club mud students set up the studio and started their coil pots.  They started by rolling out coils, and then made a slab for the base and started adding the coils to the slabs.  They’re now adding glaze and prepping their creations to go to our new kiln!
