Constructing Knowledge Together

True happiness comes only through sharing in the trials and successes of other persons and of our community. Hence it is essential that any true conception of happiness contain the promise of full commitment to the life of the society.

What a beautiful thing it is to walk through our school. At any given moment you will witness something unique.

Instead of seeing teachers in the front of the classroom as fountains of knowledge, our collaborators are truly architects of authentic learning experiences.

This dynamic means our bandspaces are more chaotic than a traditional classroom, as students collaborate almost constantly to learn from and with one another. It may look like meyhem. But actually, if you dig just a little bit deeper, you’ll see that collaborators are artfully building lessons that challenge students to construct knowledge together and providing support/feedback throughout the process as needed.

Here’s to the Brightworks Collaborators, a talented and dedicated crew, who work tirelessly to build an environment where, in every corner, students are rolling up their sleeves, they are willing to fail or make mistakes, they are experimenting, developing new ways of problem solving, and they are feeling a sense of accomplishment from enjoying the process of creation.
